ABIHPEC’s Technical and Regulatory Affairs Area addresses important technical, regulatory and scientific issues for the Personal Hygiene, Perfumery and Cosmetics industry in Brazil.
In recent years, the sector has met the challenge and made a commitment to accompany the growth of the Brazilian market by meeting the expectations of the export market with high quality, efficient, safe and competitive products that are renowned in domestic and international markets.
To be proactive, the sector has been producing educational manuals with recommendations on criteria for quality and competitiveness. All projects are linked to international partnerships so that concepts and products are harmonized.
In order to provide proposals and guidelines that address both domestic and international health surveillance and metrology issues, ABIHPEC has organized several working groups. This has led to ethical and pertinent corporate claims as well as a reduction in technical and regulatory barriers.
In MERCOSUL, ABIHPEC participates on the Special Committee on Health Surveillance Consultancy and the body representing private initiative for MERCOSUL, which deals with pertinent sector issues. SGT 11 – Health, AD HOC Cosméticos has already aligned several technical criteria related to the cosmetic sector, and is working now to update the sector.
In Latin America, ABIHPEC plays an active role in CASIC (Latin American Association of the Personal Hygiene, Perfumery and Cosmetics Industry) in holding the association’s annual meetings.
On the world scene, ABIHPEC participates with the Brazilian Committee – CB 57 Cosmetics of the Brazilian Technical Standards Association (ABTN) – as part of the ISO ISO/TC 217 committee, the International Organization for Standardization, which is the worldwide group working for global standardization of Personal Hygiene, Perfumery and Cosmetic products.
In addition, ABIHPEC encourages collaboration and partnership with organizations that represent the entire cosmetic sector production chain in several areas, such as the Competitiveness Forum.
